Job summary

Baker Hill is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer – Cash Flow Analysis to work onsite in Carmel, IN. You will embed with bankers, analyze C&I and CRE cash flows, and tailor AI-driven document processing and spreading workflows for real customer environments.

You will prototype field solutions, own pilots from kickoff to production, and collaborate with product teams. Travel up to 50% is expected as you translate customer needs into deployable software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Lending Ops, Business, CS, or Info Systems.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience spreading financial statements and performing cash flow analysis in banking, credit union, or fintech.
• Specialization in C&I and complex CRE underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow methodologies.
• Proficiency in Python and comfort with SQL, APIs, JSON, and data transformation scripting.
• Experience deploying software solutions in customer environments (implementation engineering, solutions engineering, or tech consulting).
• Excellent communication with bankers and engineers; able to explain tech tradeoffs to chiefs.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to customer sites.
• SAFe overview to be completed within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Embed with banks to observe and improve spread of financials and DSCR calculations.
• Build and deploy AI-assisted workflows for document extraction and narrative generation.
• Prototype field solutions and bring proven ones to product/engineering.
• Own technical delivery for pilots and design partner implementations, including data mapping and integrations.
• Apply C&I and CRE expertise to underwriting and cash flow analysis.
• Develop and maintain automated evaluation harnesses and report results to customers.
