Job summary

NegotiateAI, backed by Menlo Ventures, is building AI for category managers in manufacturing and industrial companies to unlock savings in indirect spend. You’ll join as the first Forward Deployed Engineer, embedded with early customers, writing production code and owning what you ship.

You’ll map spend flows, define success metrics with customers, build integrations (SAP, Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, NetSuite), and accelerate the path from raw data to a working pipeline while ensuring reliability and

Qualifications

4+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems end to end.
Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production: agentic workflows, tool use, retrieval, outputs, and evaluation.
Strong backend and integration skills with API design and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

Embed with customer procurement and IT teams to map how spend actually flows.
Define crisp success metrics with the customer before you build and instrument them.
Build integrations into customer systems (SAP, Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, NetSuite) and data warehouses.
Go from raw spend extracts to working pipelines with entity resolution and category mapping.
Model customer spend in analytics backend and keep queries fast as datasets grow.
