Job summary

NegotiateAI in Menlo Park is seeking an early-stage engineer to help build our AI-driven procurement platform. You will own core backend services, integrate with ERP systems and supplier data, and partner directly with the founder and first customers to shape what we build next.

This hands-on role features an architectural influence, opportunities to work with LLMs in production, and responsibility for end-to-end delivery while ensuring data privacy and security are baked into the product from

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with end-to-end shipping.
• Strong backend skills, API design and data pipeline work.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production, including agentic workflows.
• Experience shipping against messy real-world data: cleaning, normalization, entity resolution.
• Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and standard production practices: CI/CD, testing, observability.
• Product sense to translate ambiguity into valuable features.

Responsibilities

• Build and own core backend services, including ERP integrations and supplier databases.
• Develop agentic systems: data pipelines and automated negotiation workflows.
• Ship customer-facing features for real-time spend visibility and benchmarking; iterate on feedback.
• Build evaluation/monitoring for AI systems to measure accuracy and catch regressions.
• Set architectural direction for owned systems and mentor more junior engineers.
• Apply security and data privacy practices, including anonymization and secure sandboxes.
