NegotiateAI in San Francisco, backed by Menlo Ventures, is building AI-powered procurement solutions for enterprises. We are hiring a hands-on senior engineer to own backend services, ERP integrations, and end-to-end features in collaboration with early customers.

You’ll contribute to the product with architectural direction, mentor teammates, and ensure security/privacy practices in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with end-to-end production systems.
• Strong backend skills; API design and data pipelines are essential.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production and agentic workflows.
• Experience cleaning and normalizing messy real-world data and establishing ground truth.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure and standard production practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and own core backend services, including ERP integrations and supplier data.
• Develop agentic systems for categorization, part identifiers, and online benchmarks.
• Ship real-time spend visibility and supplier benchmarking features, iterating on feedback.
• Create evaluation and monitoring for AI systems to catch regressions.
• Set architectural direction and mentor junior engineers.
• Apply security and data privacy practices, including anonymization and tokenization.
