Job summary

Emblem is seeking an Embedded Engineer to join its Enablement Team. This hands-on role works inside portfolio companies to assess, build, and deploy data and AI solutions that drive measurable operational improvements. You will be embedded for meaningful stretches with some travel, collaborating with Emblem’s Senior Technology Leader to deliver production‑ready APIs, data pipelines, dashboards, and AI integrations, while enabling teams through documentation and training.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of hands-on software engineering, data engineering, or applied AI/ML experience.
• Experience with agentic software development, including guiding coding agents with clear specs, evals, and CI/CD for rapid iteration.
• Proven ability to build and ship production-ready solutions: APIs, data pipelines, dashboards, automation scripts, or LLM-integrated applications.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), modern data stacks (dbt, Snowflake, Databricks), and AI/ML frameworks.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, scope problems quickly, and iterate to a working solution.
• Strong communicator who can explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders and build trust with business leaders.
• High ownership mindset—take initiative and drive solutions until they work in practice.

Responsibilities

• Instrument and measure data infrastructure, systems integrations, and tooling landscapes across plant systems.
• Build and deploy production-ready data pipelines, dashboards, workflow automations, and AI/LLM integrations.
• Onboard and enable portfolio teams with documentation and training for adoption.
• Apply AI and LLMs to operational challenges and deploy them in the company environment.
• Support portfolio company tech teams and transfer knowledge to raise technical standards.
