Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer I with embedded development experience to join the Space and RF Sensors team in Fort Wayne, IN. You will design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.

You will work on cutting-edge technology, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to programs that save lives. A Master’s degree and proficiency in C/C++, Python, or Java are required, along with eligibility for a U.S.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
• Understanding of software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
• Implement, test, and debug software solutions to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
• Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and development processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
• Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.
• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
