Job summary

Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) in Cypress, CA seeks an EM/RF Engineer to support EMP hardening and assessments on aircraft and ground facilities.

You will work onsite in our Cypress facility and collaborate with engineers, physicists, and technicians on diverse programs for government and commercial customers. The role involves designing, testing, and documenting multidisciplinary tasks, analyzing data, and traveling up to 30% to support testing and customer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or relevant field
  • 0 – 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or related work
  • Hands-on testing and debugging experience involving spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, pulsers, or other EMI/EMC devices
  • Must be available for up to 30% travel for testing or customer requirements
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
  • Moderate physical effort and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
  • On-site work in Cypress, CA with occasional travel to airfields/facilities

Responsibilities

  • Support aircraft and aerospace or ground-based EMP assessments (CONUS/OCONUS)
  • Design, develop, test, and document multidisciplinary engineering tasks
  • Write detailed technical reports and maintain project documentation
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain test equipment and data acquisition systems
  • Ensure data integrity and analyze test results for trends and issues
  • Travel up to 30% as required for testing and customer support
  • Use oscilloscopes, network/spectrum analyzers, and other EMI/EMC instruments effectively
