Job summary

Park University seeks a Coordinator for English Language Learner and Writing Center services to lead writing and ELL support for undergraduate and graduate students across the Park University network, including Parkville, Gilbert, Campus Centers, and Online.

You will train tutors, plan strategic services, and manage the Writing Center operations, collaborating with academic units such as International Programs and First Year Writing to advance program goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English/Composition and Rhetoric or related field with 3–5 years of professional experience in an educational setting.
• Demonstrated understanding of Writing Center pedagogy and Writing Across the Curriculum philosophy.
• Analytical and organizational skills to understand, assess, and contribute to program development.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to interact with students, staff, and faculty stakeholders.
• Cross-cultural knowledge, awareness, and empathy to support diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Writing and ELL academic support services for undergraduate and graduate students across the Park University network, including tutor training and scheduling.
• Plan, develop, and implement a strategic plan to provide broad support for writing and English language learning.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Writing Center, including online writing center, website, student orientations, and workshops.
• Collaborate with faculty and administrative units to create resources and professional development for staff and faculty.
• Oversee policy development and assessment plans for the Writing Center and engage with campus partners.
