Job summary

North Kansas City Schools seeks a Paraprofessional for English Language Learners to support instruction under the ELL teacher and collaborate with other staff. The role involves delivering language development in small groups and assisting with assessments and records.

Under supervision, you will work with ELL students and teachers, communicate with families, and help maintain a respectful, confidential learning environment. Strong collaboration and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional test in Missouri or Missouri 20-hour Online Substitute Training Program required or preferred alternatives.
• Ability to plan and deliver English language development instruction in small groups and/or pull-out sessions.
• Ability to provide support in regular classroom setting under supervision of ELL teachers.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics regarding student information.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver English language development instruction to identified ELLs in small groups or pull-out sessions.
• Provide small group instruction in regular classroom setting under supervision of ELL and classroom teachers.
• Collaborate with ELL and classroom teachers to plan appropriate instruction for ELLs.
• Assist with administration and scoring of language assessments and with reporting/record-keeping for ELL students.
