Job summary

The U.S. Secret Service seeks qualified special agents to perform investigations and protective duties. Agents may be assigned to multiple duty stations across the United States and abroad, supporting national security objectives.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have a valid driver's license, carry a firearm with proficiency, pass background checks for Top Secret clearance, meet vision and hearing standards, complete FLETC and Rowley training, and agree to mobility requirements nationwide and

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship required.
Possess a current valid driver's license.
Carry and use a firearm; firearm proficiency required.
Be at least 21 and under 37 at conditional offer, with exceptions for certain service.
Top Secret Clearance required and to be retained.
Uncorrected visual acuity 20/100 or better; corrected 20/20 or better.
Hearing must not exceed 25 dB in specified frequencies.
Drug test prior to appointment and random drug testing.
Complete 13 weeks at FLETC in Glynco, GA and 18 weeks at Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
Mobility agreement for assignments nationwide and overseas.
Selectively required service registration for males born after 1959.

Responsibilities

Providing protection for various protectees.
Conducting criminal investigations related to financial obligations of the United States.
Planning and implementing security designs for National Special Security Events.
