Job summary

U.S. Secret Service is seeking a special agent to perform investigations and protection assignments, potentially at multiple duty stations across the United States and abroad.

The role requires carrying firearms, obtaining a Top Secret clearance, and completing extensive Federal training at FLETC and Rowley. Applicants must meet strict age, citizenship, and health criteria and be willing to relocate as needed.

Qualifications

• You must be a U.S. citizen.
• Possess a current valid driver's license.
• Carry and use a firearm with mandatory proficiency.
• Be 21–37 at application, with exceptions for certain prior federal service.
• Must obtain and retain a Top Secret clearance.
• Uncorrected visual acuity no worse than 20/100; corrected 20/20 in each eye.
• Hearing loss not exceeding 25 dB in tested ranges.
• Submit to pre-employment and random drug testing.
• Complete 13 weeks at FLETC, plus 18 weeks at the James J. Rowley Training Center.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection for protectees.
• Conduct criminal investigations related to U.S. financial obligations.
• Plan and implement security designs for National Special Security Events.
