Job summary

City of Boynton Beach is seeking a Driver/Equipment Operator IV in Florida. You will drive and operate solid waste trucks, perform pre-trip inspections, and ensure safe, efficient collection routes.

A Florida CDL Class B is required, along with strong safety practices and ability to work emergency shifts. Responsibilities include operating rear steer/other equipment, weighing loads, sorting recyclables, and applying ADA accessibility guidelines when needed.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience operating the vehicles in Solid Waste sections.
• Valid Florida CDL required (Class B).
• Must pass a written test to evaluate knowledge of Equipment Operator IV functions.
• Must complete field tests and certificates within 90 days of hire (OSHA 30, FEMA IS-552/IS-558, LO/Tagout).

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and basic maintenance.
• Drives and operates solid waste trucks on assigned routes with safety.
• Weighs trucks at landfill and sorts recyclables per SWA guidelines.
• Operates rear steer and various equipment to maximize safety and efficiency.
