Job summary

Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County is seeking a skilled CDL-A tractor-trailer driver to operate large capacity trucks delivering waste from transfer stations to disposal sites in varied weather conditions and heavy traffic.

You will perform safety checks, complete required paperwork, and ensure maintenance of equipment. A minimum of 2 years’ experience and a high school diploma are preferred, with DOT regulations guiding daily operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience driving large capacity commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers.
• CDL Class A required with valid DOT certification.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operates large capacity trucks transporting solid waste from transfer stations to disposal sites.
• Operates and unloads tractor/trailer at disposal sites.
• Inspects equipment before starting, reports malfunctions to Supervisor, and field tests equipment after servicing.
• Keeps written records and reports of trips and quantities transported.
• Provides normal operator maintenance of equipment.
