Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Advanced Marine Welder to join a dynamic team supporting US Navy ships with equipment and C5ISR system installations in Chesapeake, VA.

You will fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies, review blueprints, and ensure safety and mission readiness while working on naval vessels and military installations. The role requires up to 10% travel, DoD Secret clearance, U.S.

Qualifications

• Must obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum 5 years shipboard welding experience.
• Ability to obtain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS) and pass a drug screening.
• Pass Serco welding test and obtain required certifications within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal parts or repair using heavy machinery that heats and shapes metal.
• Review blueprints and cut metal to required shapes.
• Smooth metal to remove creases and finish surfaces.
• Navigate shipyard stairs and ladders, lift up to 50 lb with majority carrying up to 40 lb.
• Train personnel on machinery tools and test equipment.
