Job summary

Serco is seeking an Advanced Marine Welder to join a dynamic team supporting US Navy ships and C5ISR system installations. The position is located on-site in Chesapeake, VA, with work requiring the ability to travel up to 10% and maintain DoD security clearance where applicable.

You will fabricate, assemble, and repair electromechanical and electronic assemblies, adhere to strict safety practices, and potentially train personnel on tools and test equipment.

Qualifications

• Requires DoD Secret clearance eligibility.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Minimum 5 years of shipboard welding experience.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• Must complete Serco Welding Procedures within 30 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal components and repair damage using heavy machinery.
• Review blueprints and cut metal to shape.
• Smooth metal surfaces and prepare for installation.
• Work on shipboard layouts, climb stairs, and handle lifting requirements safely.
• May train others on machinery tools and test equipment.
