Job summary

Serco is hiring an Advanced Marine Welder to support US Navy ships with cabling, equipment, and C5ISR installations in the Chesapeake/Norfolk area. You will fabricate, assemble, and test electromechanical assemblies and work in conditions that require safety and precision.

Requires 5+ years shipboard welding, ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance, US citizenship, and the capacity to travel up to 10%. You will train others and work onsite in Chesapeake, VA.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain it.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Minimum 5 years of shipboard welding experience.
• Ability to gain access to NAVSTA & DBIDS shipyards and pass a drug screen.
• Must complete Serco welding procedures within 30 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble metal components using heavy machinery.
• Review blueprints and cut metal to shape as required.
• Smooth metal surfaces and repair damage as needed.
• Train personnel on machinery tools and test equipment.
• Maintain safety practices and pass pre-certification weld tests.
