Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing of electrical power systems up to 500kV. Role requires 7+ years HV testing, NETA certification, and the ability to travel up to 75% regionally.

You will analyze results, prepare detailed reports, mentor junior technicians, and serve as technical lead on multi-discipline teams while adhering to safety standards and NETA MTS/ATS guidelines.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment and protective relays.
• Ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing up to 500kV.
• Conduct power studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality.
• Test and calibrate relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Test insulation, power factor, and continuity on transformers, switchgear, cables.
• Analyze results and write comprehensive reports with recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and lead project teams.
