Job summary

Vertiv’s Electrical Reliability Services (ERS) and High Voltage Maintenance (HVM) seek Field Engineers for electrical testing at up to 500kV. Expect regional/national travel (up to 75%), competitive base pay up to $95/hour, signing bonus up to $10k, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with profit sharing.

Responsibilities include acceptance, commissioning, maintenance testing, fault isolation, report writing, and mentoring junior staff, with career progression toward leadership

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analyses.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers, switchgear, cables, breakers.
• Interpret results and draft comprehensive reports with findings.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time pressure.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Lead multi-discipline project teams as technical lead.
• Ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
