Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking an experienced Field Engineer - Electrical Testing at a senior level to perform high-voltage testing, fault analysis, and report generation for critical power systems. You will lead testing projects, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with safety standards across diverse sites.

Ideal candidates bring NETA III/IV certification, extensive HV testing experience, and proficiency with major test gear.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Able to read one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; serve as technical lead on multi-discipline teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety requirements.
