Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is seeking an Ultrasound MFM Technologist.

The role requires ARDMS certification with OB specialization within 1 year, and fetal echocardiography as a future target within 2 years. A strong background in obstetric ultrasound and diagnostic imaging is essential. The position emphasizes image optimization, adherence to protocols, and precise documentation, with opportunities to contribute to maternal-fetal medicine services

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification required or eligible.
• Must hold ARDMS OB certification within 1 year of hire.
• RDMS in Fetal Echocardiography (FE) within 2 years of hire.
• Nasal Bone Certification within 1 year of employment start date.
• Basic Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient ability to tolerate procedures and demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and positioning.
• Implement a procedure plan within established protocols.
• Recognize sonographic characteristics of tissues and adjust technique to optimize images.
• Perform measurements and calculations per protocol.
• Minimize acoustic energy exposure without compromising quality.
• Ensure examination complies with protocols and guidelines.
• Document findings clearly in the patient record per policy.
