Job summary

Yellow Dog Plumbing, Heating & Cooling in Needham, MA is seeking a seasoned leader to own residential HVAC installs from arrival to commissioning. You will supervise a crew, stage materials, ensure clean job sites, and deliver a manufacturer-perfect finish.

You’ll lead end-to-end installations of furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, A/C, coils, and mini-splits, mentor apprentices, verify code compliance, and document the work for the office. Join a team that values craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential HVAC installation experience leading full installs.
• Deep knowledge of furnaces, A/C systems, heat pumps, air handlers, coils and mini-splits.
• Hands-on mastery of piping, evacuation, charging, drainage, venting, gas piping, electrical, and commissioning.
• Ability to read specs and follow manufacturer requirements and codes.
• Experience mentoring apprentices and communicating professionally with homeowners.
• EPA 608 certification and valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential HVAC replacements and new system installations end-to-end.
• Install furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, air conditioners, coils, mini-splits, and related components.
• Guide and mentor apprentices and junior installers on best practices.
• Review the scope, anticipate issues, and ensure code, manufacturer, and company standards are met.
• Evacuate, charge, test, and commission systems; verify performance before leaving.
• Communicate clearly with homeowners and keep projects organized, clean, and efficient.
• Complete job documentation and share recommendations with the office.
• Own the quality of the finished installation.
