Job summary

Rural/Metro is hiring a Firefighter EMT to perform fire suppression duties and medical pre-hospital procedures. You will respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents, provide medical care, and support rescue operations.

The role requires current Firefighter II and HazMat-Operations certifications, EMT-B, CPR/AED, and a valid driver's license. Shifts are 24 hours, with overtime as needed. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• State/IFSAC or ProBoard Firefighter II and HazMat-Operations certifications required.
• Airport Firefighter certification if assigned to airport operations; EMT-B current.
• CPR/AED certification, valid driver's license with good driving record.
• High school diploma or GED; DUI within last 5 years is disqualifying.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire suppression duties and respond to various fire incidents and alarms.
• Provide emergency medical care and assist in pre-hospital procedures on scene and en route.
• Operate fire apparatus and perform search, rescue, ventilation, and salvage operations.
• Complete written reports detailing actions taken on scene and patient care.
• Inspect equipment and vehicles; report discrepancies to on-duty personnel.
• Participate in required trainings, drills, and public fire safety education.
• Comply with all policies, procedures and compliance requirements.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Firefighter II certification (IFSAC/ProBoard)

Hazardous Materials-Operations certification

Airport Firefighter certification (FAA)

State/National Registered EMT-B

Current CPR/AED certification

Valid driver's license with clean record

DUI within last 5 years disqualifying
