Job summary

MAG Aerospace seeks a highly skilled MID Systems Engineer to support DoD programs across C5ISRT, radar, and RF systems. You will oversee requirements, architecture, MBSE artifacts, and technical reviews to ensure mission-critical performance.

The ideal candidate holds 5+ years in defense systems engineering, DoD experience, and a TS clearance; top candidates have MBSE tool experience and strong communication with stakeholders in DoD environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical) and 5+ years in defense systems engineering are expected.
• Experience with DoD programs and DoDI 5000.88 guidance is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to brief senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate program engineering approaches to comply with DoDI 5000.88 and tailor SE practices for AAF pathways.
• Lead elicitation, derivation, allocation, and tracking of system-level requirements with traceability to operational needs.
• Review foundational documents (SEPs, TEMPs, SRDs, SSs, TPMs, and performance specs) for accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee contractor Technical Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management plans and registries.
• Participate in and assess System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review to ensure baselines are established.
• Review MBSE artifacts (SysML models, diagrams, digital twin concepts) for rigor and correctness.
• Coordinate with Program Managers and stakeholders to translate user feedback into actionable engineering strategies.
