We are laser focused on serving our customers by providing technical expertise, operational excellence, and flawless execution. Our success is due entirely to the high caliber of employees we recruit, hire, and retain. At MAG, we look for individuals who thrive in a high‑performance environment where challenges are the norm and success is expected.

MAG Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and cleared MID Systems Engineer to join our advanced technology team. In this role, you will assist the Government in the technical oversight of design, development, integration, testing, and lifecycle management activities of multiple complex mission‑critical systems. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise across C5ISRT (Command, Control, Computing, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting), Radar Systems, Communication Systems, or RF Frequency Systems, specifically applied within DoD and IC environments.

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Requires a current Top Secret security clearance. A CI Polygraph is preferred
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • DoD Policy Alignment: Evaluate multiple program engineering approaches to ensure compliance with DoDI 5000.88. Guide programs in appropriately tailoring systems engineering (SE) practices, technical reviews, and audits to fit the size, complexity, and urgency of the selected Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) pathway.
  • Requirements Development & Management: Lead and assist in the elicitation, derivation, allocation, and tracking of system‑level requirements. Ensure requirements are clearly defined, verifiable, and trace directly to operational capability needs and DoDI 5000.88 engineering standards.
  • Documentation Review: Assist in the review and refinement of foundational program documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), System Requirements Documents (SRDs), System Specifications (SSs), Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs), Performance Specifications, and other engineering artifacts.
  • Risk Assessment: Critically evaluate and provide technical oversight of contractor‑led Technical Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management plans and registries.
  • Technical Reviews: Participate in and assess the outcomes of event‑driven technical reviews (e.g., System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review) to ensure criteria are met and technical baselines are properly established.
  • Digital Engineering: Conduct rigorous technical reviews of contractor‑delivered Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts, including SysML models, architectural diagrams (structural, behavioral, and parametric), and digital twin frameworks.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate seamlessly with Program Managers, test communities, and operational stakeholders to translate end‑user feedback into actionable engineering strategies and recommendations.
Requirements
  • DoD Support: Recent engineering assignments supporting design, development, and acquisition of C5ISRT, EW, or RF systems.
  • Systems Lifecycle Expertise: Proven experience executing or overseeing SE processes across the acquisition lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, configuration management, and technical baseline control.
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to brief complex technical risks and programmatic impacts to senior leadership.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: 5+ years of direct experience in defense systems engineering.
Desired Requirements
  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical management field.
  • Certifications: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP), OCSMP (OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional), Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Engineering/Technical Management certifications, or equivalent certification.
  • MBSE Experience: Hands‑on experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo, Sparx EA) and digital twin concepts.
Other Qualifications
  • Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance (Top Secret/SCI with CI polygraph preferred).
  • This position is 100% in Government spaces; no telework authorized.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
