Job summary

PCH Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgeons and the perioperative team. You will scrub, assist in intraoperative procedures, and ensure patient safety across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.

The role requires CST certification with BLS and 2 years of progressive CST experience. You will contribute to instrument handling, specimen management, and efficient workflow in a busy operating room.

Qualifications

• Current Surgical Technologist Certification through recognized boards.
• Must have CSFA/CSA/SA-C certification as applicable.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Two years of progressive CST scrub experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical skills to prepare for surgical procedures.
• Assists other perioperative team members in care of the surgical patient.
• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Under supervision of the surgeon, assists in perioperative care and duties.
• Assesses patient needs and collects supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Delivers age-appropriate care considering cultural, spiritual, and psychosocial needs.
• Maintains a safe environment and reports potential complications.
• Assist in scheduling OR cases and using the EMR as applicable.
• Functions in Central Reprocessing: decontamination and preparation of instruments.
• Utilizes proper patient positioning and wound dressing techniques.
• Assists with securing drainage systems.
