Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is seeking a day shift, full-time Surgical Technician for the Westwood, NJ area. The role supports surgeons in the sterile field, performs scrub duties, and ensures necessary sterile supplies and equipment are available.

Qualified candidates will hold CST or NCCT certification, complete 15 hours of CE yearly, and obtain BLS within 14 days of hire. High School or GED and Surgical Technologist program completion are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT certification.
• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified in NJ.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice.
• Perform scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensure the case has sterile supplies and equipment for the surgeon and procedure.
• Assist with circulating duties under the RN circulator's supervision.
• Adhere to hospital, state, and departmental policies and procedures.
