Job summary

The Catering Sales Manager at Highgate Hotels is responsible for soliciting new catering accounts, entertaining and sustaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. He/she must have a strong knowledge of weddings and understand the importance of prospecting in creating new sales opportunities for the hotel.

He/she is also responsible to coordinate and service client functions to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining profitable operations and high

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 2-year college degree and 3+ years of related experience.
• Proficiency in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Delphi is preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work—up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently to move objects.
• Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Keep supervisor informed of problems or matters requiring attention.
• Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner.
• Follow up on turnovers within 24 hours by phone and 3 days in writing.
• Know meeting room setups and capabilities; sleeping room configurations.
• Respond to catering inquiries immediately.
• Manage function diary and maximize revenue opportunities.
• Interact with outside planners and vendors for event setup.
• Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for clients.
• Be visible on the floor and assist staff during functions.
• Participate in required M.O.D. program and hotel trainings.
