Job summary

Highgate Hotels' Harmonie Club in Manhattan seeks a Catering Sales Manager to solicit new catering accounts, entertain and sustain relationships, and meet revenue goals. He/she coordinates client functions to ensure satisfaction while maintaining profitable operations and high service levels.

Knowledge of events, weddings, mitzvahs, and prospecting is essential. The role involves problem-solving with client relationships, working with various departments, and planning holiday and special events

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel, private club or a related field; or a 2 year college degree and 1 or more years of related experience.
• Must be proficient in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Familiarity with Club Essentials, Reserve Cloud, or ability to learn new CSM systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner
• Know meeting room setups and capabilities.
• Knowledge of and ability to cross-sell sister properties Respond to Catering inquiries immediately or within 24 hours
• Interact with outside planners and vendors for event setup.
• Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for clients.
• Manage existing accounts and follow up with client re-solicitation to capture future business.
• Work with F&B managers and keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.
• Manage the function diary and adjust space in order to ensure maximum potential revenue.
• Be visible on the floor and assist staff as needed during functions.
• Be involved in departmental and club training
• Plan and execute holiday and special events in conjunction with the Director of Catering.
• Use feedback from client evaluations to improve service and quality.
• Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his/her attention.
