Job summary

Mount Carmel Health is seeking a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform echocardiography studies, report preliminary findings, and support patient care in a full-time capacity. You will review orders, explain procedures, and ensure accuracy of reports while collaborating with the care team and managing equipment.

The role emphasizes ongoing professional development and adherence to accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• High School education required; degree preferred in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• ARRT radiography licensure or registry eligibility
• ARDMS RVT or RDCS certification or CCI RCS/RVS per requirements
• Board-eligible with certification within 12 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year cardiovascular imaging experience
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Review physician orders and identify patients
• Perform echocardiography studies per policy and guidelines
• Enter data accurately and ensure report accuracy
• Communicate patient data to care teams
• Assist with equipment evaluation and basic troubleshooting
• Maintain professional development and accreditation activities
• Utilize computer systems for timekeeping, documentation and reporting
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives
