Job summary

VIP, Inc. in Brewer, ME is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose automotive systems, perform repairs, and replace parts, fluids, tires and accessories with a focus on safety and quality. The role requires adherence to VIP processes and completion of service work orders and MPI for every vehicle.

You will pursue ASE certifications, work closely with the Desk Team for parts, and maintain a 5‑for‑5 customer engagement standard while protecting shop safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions and procedures.
• Explain vehicle information to customers clearly and respond to questions.
• Diagnose basic automotive problems and suggest solutions.
• Understand and apply written or diagrammed instructions and schedules.
• Able to perform the automotive services listed in the job duties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure workplace safety is priority; follow safety policies and training.
• Provide diagnosis, repair, and maintenance for automotive systems.
• Initiate a valid Service Work Order before service and display it with the vehicle.
• Complete MPI and participate in VIP's 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process.
• Return unused parts to the Desk Team and manage core tires and batteries.
• Maintain productivity targets and uphold VIP quality standards.
• Complete required training and certifications for the position.
