Job summary

Engineering Resource Group in Edison, NJ seeks a skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer to work on multi-axis turn-mill machines in a low-volume, high-mix environment. The role involves programming, setup and run of complex parts, plus tool and fixture development for first article runs.

Candidates must read drawings, interpret GD&T, and use precision inspection tools to verify parts to print; 3+ years on CNC mills/lathe; 2+ years on 5-axis turn-mill; machining of difficult alloys is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating CNC mills and lathes.
• Minimum 2 years of experience on 5-axis CNC lathes (turn-mill).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Proficiency with standard shop tools and manual machines.
• Experience with precision inspection tools: calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, bore gauges and optical comparators.
• Experience machining difficult alloys (titanium, nickel-based superalloys, hardened stainless) a plus.
• CAM programming experience (Mastercam or comparable) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and run multi-axis turn-mill (5-axis lathe) equipment in a low-volume, high-mix environment.
• Write and edit CNC programs and setup sheets for complex multi-axis parts.
• Cut stock, build tooling and set fixtures ahead of first-article runs.
• Prove out new programs and run parts through deburr and finishing.
• Inspect and verify parts to print using standard and precision metrology tools.
