Job summary

Florida Department of Children & Families – Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency is seeking an Eligibility Supervisor (SES) in Fort Lauderdale to lead a unit responsible for public assistance eligibility determinations. The role focuses on communicating, motivating, training, and evaluating staff, while directing work assignments and applying detailed eligibility knowledge.

The incumbent will supervise staff, monitor performance, and ensure accuracy and timely processing according to policy.

Qualifications

• Two or more years’ experience determining eligibility for food stamps, Medicaid, and cash assistance.

Responsibilities

• Supervises public assistance eligibility staff and ensures unit responsibilities are processed accurately and timely.
• Develops tracking systems to monitor case status and ensure performance targets are met.
• Plans workload, priorities, deadlines and work objectives to meet process measurements.
• Reviews case records and discusses findings to support staff development and accuracy.
• Resolves issues from customers and ensures compliance with rules and procedures.
• Provides training to employees and coordinates policy implementation.
• Maintains professional knowledge through mandatory training and supervisory conferences.
