Job summary

Douglas County Government (CO) is seeking an Eligibility Supervisor to lead a team responsible for determining initial and ongoing eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid, LTC, TANF, OAP, AND and related programs.

The role emphasizes coaching, training, policy adherence, and collaboration with internal and external partners to deliver accurate and customer-focused service in both in-person and virtual settings.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required; higher degree preferred.
• Four years of experience determining eligibility for SNAP, Medicaid, LTC, TANF, OAP, AND, or similar programs.
• Experience using CBMS.
• Previous leadwork or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team to ensure efficient, accurate and timely case processing and exceptional customer service.
• Provide coaching, support, and training to direct reports in-person and virtually.
• Monitor workload distribution, performance metrics, timeliness standards, and quality assurance measures.
• Review and approve eligibility determinations to ensure compliance with program rules and policies.
• Oversee staff performance and take timely corrective action, including evaluations and improvement plans.
• Facilitate team meetings, training sessions, and individual check-ins to promote communication and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a subject matter resource for complex cases related to SNAP, Medicaid, LTC, OAP, AND, TANF, and other programs.
• Prepare for and represent the County in client administrative appeals, including gathering documentation and testimony.
• Recruit and onboard new staff; attend local, state, and federal meetings.
