The Tohono O’odham Nation in Sells, AZ invites applications for a qualified Eligibility Specialist. Under supervision, you will review client applications to determine program eligibility for Food Distribution and Family Assistance programs.

You will travel to distribution centers, collect income data, conduct home visits when needed, and maintain accurate case records while providing clear information about grants and services. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualificações

Responsabilidades

• Receives and reviews client applications to determine eligibility for program assistance.
• Travels to food distribution centers to review recipients.
• Records applicant information and verifies income data with Social Services or related agencies.
• Makes home visits to verify information when needed.
• Maintains accurate and current information on certified recipients.
• Reviews applications and determines eligibility per policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Interviews applicants to determine eligibility for general, financial, burial or emergency assistance.
• Records and evaluates personal and financial data to determine continued eligibility.
• Explains rules and regulations governing eligibility and grants, payments, and rights to clients.
• Assists applicants in applying for financial assistance and reviews applications for completeness.
• Authorizes grant amounts based on eligibility.
• Identifies needs for other social services and makes referrals to agencies.
• Monitors recipient case records and maintains case files; generates reports as required.
• Performs other duties and contributes to team effort.
