Job summary

The Tohono O'odham Nation is seeking a Nutrition Specialist to perform eligibility certification, nutrition assessments, and food package selection at mobile WIC clinic sites across the Nation in Sells, AZ.

You will conduct health assessments, document findings, provide nutrition counseling, promote breastfeeding, and refer clients to healthcare and social services, with travel to remote areas as needed and data reporting to support program goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in health education, nutrition, or related field with 2 years in nutrition counseling.
• Ability to travel to mobile WIC clinic sites across the Nation.
• Current Food Handler's card and compliance with training requirements.
• Knowledge of nutrition, breastfeeding promotion, and cultural considerations.

Responsibilities

• Set up at mobile WIC sites to provide services.
• Conduct nutrition and health assessments and document results.
• Promote breastfeeding and refer to Lactation Consultant as needed.
• Certify clients and process re-certifications; refer to other services.
• Maintain records and participate in community outreach and reporting.
• Travel to remote areas to provide services.
