Job summary

Pueblo County is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to determine Medicaid/SNAP and related public assistance eligibility. You will gather information, verify details, and maintain case files across multiple systems with moderate independence.

Qualifications

• Two years or more of administrative support experience.
• Two years or more experience performing as an Eligibility Specialist.
• Experience working with diverse populations and maintaining case files.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, reviews information from applicants and recipients to determine eligibility.
• Verifies information via direct contact, collateral contacts, phone contacts, and system interfaces.
• Informs applicants of requirements and assists with forms; notifies of appeal rights and procedures.
• Maintains case files and prepares documentation to initiate, continue, and modify public assistance.
• Interacts with service providers and other agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Assists in court hearings and appeals; may testify.
• Determines need for recovery of funds or referrals for fraud investigations.
• Provides training and technical support to new staff.
