Job summary

TK Elevator in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer I to design and analyze mechanical components of elevator systems. You will develop new components and modify existing ones, supporting product development with verification and validation activities and collaboration across engineering teams.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 1–5 years of related experience; CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD are expected, as is familiarity with elevator codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 1 to 5 years of related experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment.
• Strong knowledge of physics, motion dynamics, mechanical engineering.
• Understanding of elevator systems and codes is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Demonstrated experience in using computer-assisted design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Blue Beam/Adobe Writer.
• Demonstrated experience with hands on mechanical components/equipment is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience with the use of computer-assisted engineering tools and general knowledge of test equipment.
• 1+ years of elevator design experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs mechanical components and elevator systems
• Works under general supervision, relies on limited instructions and pre-established guidelines
• Works in collaboration with other engineers to achieve goals
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments
• Understands and uses the A17.1 elevator code as a basis for all designs
• Utilizes a wide degree of creativity and latitude in performing the essential functions of the role
• Reads requirements and specifications to fully understand the systems required for the components being used
• Generates designs per the outlined requirements, company procedures and specifications
• Evaluates and produces designs for the manufacturing of hydraulic and traction elevators
• Contributes in a team environment
• Adheres to all safety procedures and company safety standards while developing the tasks and while working in the lab and test tower
• Adheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professional
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
