Job summary

TK Elevator is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer I in Atlanta, GA to design, develop and analyze mechanical components of elevator systems. The role involves collaborating with engineers to support development, verification and validation throughout the product life-cycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 1–5 years of related experience required.
  • Experience in a team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of physics, motion dynamics, and mechanical engineering.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Blue Beam/Adobe Writer.

TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer I in Atlanta, GA.

This role will mainly design, develop, implement and analyze mechanical components of the elevator systems. The position will either work on development of new components or create changes to existing components to support the continuity of the products already released, including verification and validation activities of the product development life-cycle. During the development of these components, the engineer will also collaborate to tasks related to the elevator system development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Designs mechanical components and elevator systems
  • Works under general supervision, relies on limited instructions and pre-established guidelines
  • Works in collaboration with other engineers to achieve goals
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments
  • Understands and uses the A17.1 elevator code as a basis for all designs
  • Utilizes a wide degree of creativity and latitude in performing the essential functions of the role
  • Reads requirements and specifications to fully understand the systems required for the components being used
  • Generates designs per the outlined requirements, company procedures and specifications
  • Evaluates and produces designs for the manufacturing of hydraulic and traction elevators
  • Contributes in a team environment
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and company safety standards while developing the tasks and while working in the lab and test tower
  • Adheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professional
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • 1 to 5 years of related experience is required
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of physics, motion dynamics, mechanical engineering
  • Must possess strong decision-making abilities
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred
  • Understanding of elevator systems and codes is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Possess effective verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in using computer-assisted design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Blue Beam/Adobe Writer
  • Demonstrated experience with hands on mechanical components/equipment is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of computer-assisted engineering tools and general knowledge of test equipment
  • Possess the ability to follow general instructions and procedures to perform the functions of the job
  • 1+ years of elevator design experience, preferred
  • 1+ years of elevator design experience
  • 1 to 5 years of related experience is required
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment
