Job summary

TK Elevator in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer I to design, develop, implement, and analyze mechanical components of elevator systems. The role supports new component development or updates to existing components, including verification and validation within the product development life cycle.

The engineer will collaborate with other engineers, use SolidWorks/AutoCAD, and apply the A17.1 elevator code.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 1 to 5 years of related experience is required.
• Experience in a team environment.
• Strong knowledge of physics, motion dynamics, mechanical engineering.
• Must possess strong decision-making abilities.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Understanding of elevator systems and codes is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated experience in CAD/engineering tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Hands-on experience with mechanical components/equipment
• Experience with test equipment and CAE tools.
• Ability to follow general instructions and procedures.
• 1+ years of elevator design experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs mechanical components and elevator systems
• Works under general supervision, relies on limited instructions and pre-established guidelines
• Works in collaboration with other engineers to achieve goals
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments
• Understands and uses the A17.1 elevator code as a basis for all designs
• Generates designs per the outlined requirements, company procedures and specifications
• Evaluates and produces designs for the manufacturing of hydraulic and traction elevators
• Contributes in a team environment
• Adheres to all safety procedures and company safety standards while developing the tasks and while working in the lab and test tower
• Adheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professional
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
