Job summary

American Elevator Group is seeking a seasoned elevator maintenance mechanic for on-site work in Windber, PA. The role involves installation, modernization, testing of safety features, and on-site wiring and component replacement to keep elevators operating to code.

You will read blueprints, troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues, and ensure proper alignment of motors, gears, and control panels, contributing to long-term reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Maintenance elevator mechanic with ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
• Experience installing equipment on-site following safety, maintenance and testing procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Performs elevator new installation and modernization work with testing of safety features.
• Installs/replaces control panels, motors, switches, relays, and related equipment.
• Inspects, maintains and repairs hoist motors, doors, cables, and related components.
• Reads blueprints to determine layout and equipment needed for installation or repair.
• Assembles elevator cars including platform, walls and doors.
