Job summary

Eastern Elevator, part of American Elevator Group (AEG), is seeking an experienced maintenance elevator mechanic for the Windber, PA area. You will install and modernize elevators, test safety features, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.

Applicants should have 4+ years of on-site experience, be able to travel weekly with overnight stays, hold a valid driver's license and state licenses or obtain within 60 days. CET or NEIEP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of elevator maintenance experience and ability to read blueprints/technical manuals.
• Experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical elevator systems.
• Valid driver's license; state licenses (Maryland/West Virginia) or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform elevator new installation and modernization work following safety procedures.
• Test and adjust speed, level, braking, and safety features per code.
• Inspect, repair, and replace components such as motors, cables, doors, and control systems.
• Read blueprints to determine layout and equipment needs; assemble elevator cars and connect wiring.
• Travel with weekly overnight stays as required.

Tests and adjusts general operating and safety features of elevators such as speed, acceleration, leveling, braking, emergency stop, and alarm bellInstalls/replace electronic control panels, switches, relays, signal devices, electric motors, generators and related equipmentInspects, adjusts, maintains, and repairs hoist motors and machinery, governors, door mechanisms, cables, hydraulic buffers, pumps, brakes, rails, guides and related equipmentRead and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of system components and to select the equipment needed for installation or repairAssemble elevator cars, installing each car’s platform, walls, and doorsConnect electrical wiring to control panels and electric motorsTest newly installed equipment to ensure it meets required specifications per elevator codeTroubleshoot malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systemsDismantle elevator components in order to gain access to remove and replace defective parts, using hoists, ladders, and hand/power toolsRepair and/or replace faulty components in order to return elevator to fully operational statusAbility to travel with weekly overnight stays.
