Job summary

South Jersey Elevator in Gloucester Township, NJ is seeking an Elevator Field Mechanic to install, repair, and maintain elevator systems across commercial and residential projects. The role requires a valid Elevator Mechanic license (or ability to obtain within 6 months) and a minimum of five years in the trade; travel and after-hours work may be required, with a company vehicle provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform general physical activities, including climbing and lifting.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• On-call rotation with afterhours and weekends may be required.
• Ability to travel out of town as needed.

Responsibilities

• New construction & Modernization mechanics will install and / or upgrade various elevator equipment, from ground break to final inspections.
• Service Technicians will repair and maintain equipment — Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate on mechanical or electronic principles.
• Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
• Interact with customers, GC’s and / or business owners – exchange information in a professional manner.
