Job summary

Start Elevator in Ohio is seeking an experienced Elevator Modernization Mechanic to perform complete modernizations and repairs on hydraulic and traction elevators, including installing high-tech controllers, door equipment, hoist machines, wiring and packings.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of modernization experience and holds a State of New York CET certificate or Elevator Mechanic License; experience with both traction and hydraulic systems is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of elevator modernization experience.
• State of New York Certificate of Competency required.
• Certified Elevator Technician (CET) degree or Elevator Mechanic License.
• Experience with both traction and hydraulic elevators.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete modernizations and repairs professionally and profitably
• Carry out repair, modernizations and inspections of elevators and related devices to ensure safe operation
• Perform alteration tests to ensure proper operation of safety devices during final inspections
• Assist in determining suitability of present equipment and proposed modifications
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described
