Job summary

Schindler Group in Philadelphia, PA, seeks a Field Superintendent for New Installations to oversee elevator installation projects, lead 12–20 field technicians, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while coordinating with contractors, customers, and internal teams. You will mentor staff, manage logistics, support bids, and drive progress through regular site visits.

Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years leadership in elevator projects is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in relevant field.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience in elevator/installation projects preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a high-performing, safe team of 12-20 field technicians.
• Coordinate daily project schedules, site readiness, material ordering, and payroll accuracy.
• Monitor progress and drive efficiency through site visits and clear communication.
• Manage manpower with union representatives and resolve staffing issues.
• Support bids, project progress meetings, and customer issue resolution.
• Ensure all installations meet safety, contractual, and company requirements.
• Train and mentor technicians on processes and safety protocols.
• Liaise between field teams, contractors, sales, and project management.
• Resolve on-site challenges and adapt to shifting priorities.
