Job summary

Residential Elevators, Inc. is seeking an Elevator Install Mechanic Apprentice in the Charleston, SC area. This full-time, paid program trains you to install and service residential elevators with mentorship from experienced mechanics.

Most apprentices advance within 12–18 months to Service Technician or Installation Mechanic, with earning potential of $60K–$90K+ after promotion. Benefits include full medical/dental/vision, life insurance, 401(k), PTO, and travel opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Willing to travel up to 90% (regional travel from Charleston, SC).
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and performing hard manual work.
• Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces.
• Safe use of hand tools; valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

About the Apprentice Program

This full-time, paid position is designed for motivated individuals looking to start a long-term career. You’ll receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced elevator mechanics, learning the skills needed to install and service residential elevators.

Most Apprentices are promoted within 12–18 months to Service Technician or Installation Mechanic — with earning potential of $60K–$90K+ after promotion.

Requirements

You must have:

• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Be able and willing to travel up to 90% (mostly regional travel from Charleston, SC)
• Be physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and doing hard physical work
• Be comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces
• Know how to safely use hand toolsHave a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Bonus if you have:

• Prior experience in construction, electrical, mechanical, or elevator industries
• Military background — veterans encouraged to apply!
