Job summary

Residential Elevators, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is hiring an Elevator Install Mechanic Apprentice. This full-time, paid program trains you to install and service residential elevators while earning and learning on the job.

Most apprentices move to Service Technician or Installation Mechanic within 12–18 months, with earning potential of $60K–$90K+ after promotion. You must travel regionally up to 90% and meet safety and tool-use requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% (regional travel from Charlotte, NC).
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and performing demanding work.
• Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces.
• Familiar with safely using hand tools.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Learn to install and service residential elevators through hands-on training.
• Receive mentorship from experienced elevator mechanics.
• Advance within 12–18 months to higher technician roles with strong earning potential.

About the Apprentice Program

This full-time, paid position is designed for motivated individuals looking to start a long-term career. You’ll receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced elevator mechanics, learning the skills needed to install and service residential elevators.

Most Apprentices are promoted within 12–18 months to Service Technician or Installation Mechanic — with earning potential of $60K–$90K+ after promotion.

Requirements

You must:

• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Be able and willing to travel up to 90% (mostly regional travel from Charlotte, NC)
• Be physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and doing hard physical work
• Be comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces
• Know how to safely use hand tools
• Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Bonus if you have:

• Prior experience in construction, electrical, mechanical, or elevator industries
• Military background — veterans encouraged to apply!
• A customer-first attitude and willingness to learn
