Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an Elevator Inspector to perform complex inspections of elevators, escalators, and related conveyance systems across job sites to ensure compliance with safety codes. Travel to various sites is required; candidates must hold a Certified Elevator Inspection License and maintain AHJ licenses.

Qualifications

Requires Certified Elevator Inspection License through NEASA International or QEITF.
Maintains AHJ licenses and communicates with owners/contractors.
Needs ability to use laptop/tablet to enter inspection reports and access code standards.
Ideal candidate has strong knowledge of elevator industry principles and practices.
Good social skills and public interaction are essential.

Responsibilities

Inspect elevators, escalators, lifts, and conveyance systems for code compliance with state/local requirements.
Complete reports noting violations and recommendations; submit to AHJ and owners.
Interpret and explain codes to owners, contractors, and maintenance staff.
Coordinate extra inspections and communicate findings clearly.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of code developments and CE classes.
