Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking an Elevator Inspector to perform complex inspections of elevators, escalators, lifts, and related conveyance equipment in accordance with state and local codes. The role includes documenting findings, violations, and recommendations, and communicating results to owners, contractors, and AHJs.

The ideal candidate will hold a Certified Elevator Inspection License (NEASA or QEITF), maintain AHJ licenses, and demonstrate strong communication, technical literacy, and

Qualifications

• Must hold Certified Elevator Inspection License (NEASA or QEITF).
• Must maintain AHJ licenses and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Proficient with a laptop/tablet to enter inspection results.

Responsibilities

• Inspect elevators, escalators, and lifts for code compliance.
• Complete reports noting findings, violations, and recommendations.
• Submit reports to AHJ and share copies with owner and ATIS.
• Explain code requirements to contractors and owners.
• Provide recommendations to ensure compliance with codes.
• Generate new customers for services.
• Stay current with code developments.
• Complete annual Continuing Education.
