Job summary

Schindler Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer—Field Support in Holland, OH to provide on-site and remote troubleshooting for elevator systems, focusing on fault isolation, diagnostics, and service restoration. Qualifications

• BACHELORS DEGREE Required.
• Electrical Engineering field preferred.
• 2 years minimum: Engineering understanding (mechanical and electrical; print reading).
• 2 years minimum: Supply Chain and Industrialization knowhow and experience.
• 2 years minimum: Analytical competency (data mining, problem analysis; strong Excel skills).
• REQUIRED: ELEC/MECH Engineering, drawing and BOM.
• REQUIRED: Multiple task management and project management.
• REQUIRED: Problem solving skills or lean six sigma.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• SAP knowledge of material management, including design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote support for installed elevator systems with focus on troubleshooting and service restoration.
• Assist fault isolation on controllers, drives, sensors, and communication networks; document findings and implement corrective actions.
• Collect logs and fault codes; provide descriptions for escalation and firmware updates.
• Perform standardized post-repair checks and capture performance metrics for future comparison.
• Read schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams; maintain service documentation and ensure QA traceability.
• Coordinate with mechanics, site managers, and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
