Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks an IDEA Academy teacher to ensure students master academics and social skills, aligning with IDEA values daily. You will set ambitious learning goals, plan rigorous instruction, and monitor progress to intervene when needed.

The role emphasizes delivering engaging instruction, assessing mastery, and collaborating with families to promote college readiness across grade levels 3–5. A strong certification and K-12 experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Strong content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience (strongly preferred).
• Bilingual certification strongly preferred; content and ESL certification preferred (not required).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track each student’s progress and adjust plans based on data.
• Communicate students’ progress with families weekly.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
• Engage in school-wide activities and district learning opportunities.
